The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced $114 million for humanitarian assistance in the Horn of Africa region.
In a statement the international aid organization issues on Thursday April 7, the funds would be for people in Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia who face unprecedented drought.
The ongoing drought has claimed both livestock and human lives and also led to displacement of a large number of people looking for food and pasture for their animals.
According to USAID’s, close to 20 million individuals in the region would require emergency food this year.
